The Cut

Golf by Design was commissioned to design and supervise construction of an 18-hole championship golf course for the Port Bouvard residential community south of Perth, Western Australia. This is a premier development comprised of an 18-hole championship golf course, clubhouse, hotel and residential lots on ocean front land.

Prior to Golf by Design’s involvement, preliminary planning of the residential precinct and championship golf course had been started. Through the application of our specialist expertise and adopting a holistic perspective to planning, Golf by Design (conservatively) realised an incremental $6 million in residential yield for the developer, and at the same time strengthened the layout for the golf course. A win-win situation.

Set on spectacular ocean front land, this 18-hole championship golf course winds its way through the coastal dunes to create a stunning links-style layout with incomparable views of the Indian Ocean. Since its grand opening in 2005, The Cut has received extraordinary accolades including being voted by Golf Digest as the best course in Western Australia and 16th in Australia’s top 100 courses. Plus, the leading and respected golf journal, Australian Golf, voted the 12th  hole as being one of the best 18 holes in all of Australian golf. These accolades have generated unprecedented kudos for The Cut and leave no doubt as to why it was chosen to host the prestigious Western Australian PGA tournament.
